From the photos and the articles I've read so far it sounds like you are both having an amazing trip around the world. My wife and I are embarking on a trip round the world for a year and have like you left some of the planning out as it could detract from the journey.

There are a number of reasons for us heading out of California for a year like losing our apartment to the 2007 California fires, losing my job to the credit crisis and not having and kids as yet in our life. The time felt right so we set off 8th April 2008.
