Don't wear running shoes in Europe, if you want to it in. Except for the very young or those with a very low income (not able to afford anything else), running shoes are simply not a standard outfit.
Old school sneakers are ok (like Vans slip ons) or buy a well fitting pair of simple leather slip ons.
But seeing a person sporting running shoes and maybe Eagle Creek travel gear immediately immediately tells: He/she is a tourist, probably from the states.

Women looking for "blend in" walking shoes - Ecco. They have lightweight laceup walking shoes that are more comfortable than running shoes and they allow you to blend in. Can't recommend them enough.

One essential that I now use all the time is wool underwear from Ice Breaker. You can wear them for days (if needed), the clean easy and dry fast, organic, warm when wet, never too warm, and two pair is all you need.

Regarding laundry detergent: I traveled with three other people and we ended up buying a bottle of clothes detergent from the local market and split it up evenly in empty water bottles. We each ended up with two small bottles of laundry detergent and in splitting the cost between 4 people it cost next to nothing!

Hello, I believe you understand backpacks, I would appreciate if you would complete a survey on backpacks to help me make the ideal or ultimate backpack to manufacture.

This is some really great advice. With terminals becoming more and more like Terminal 5 in Heathrow it is always best to carry on your luggage so it does not get into some luggage hell like they have in England. I am trying to pack for a trip to Morocco and this advice really helped. Thanks!
